- 100 g caster sugar
- 5 ripe pears
- 100 g unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
- Extra sugar for dusting

- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- 4 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
