  • Ingredients:
    • 1 jar of cherries
    • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
    • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
    • 1 sheet of puff pastry
    • 1 egg yolk
    • Powdered sugar for sprinkling

Method:

  1. Drain the cherries, reserving the juice. Measure 200 ml of this juice. Mix 2 tablespoons of juice with cornstarch until smooth.
  2. In a saucepan, bring the remaining juice, cherries and vanilla sugar to a boil. Stir in cornstarch mixture and cook until thickened. Let cool slightly.
  3. Preheat the oven to 180°C fan-assisted (200°C conventional).
  4. Cut the puff pastry into eight equal pieces. Arrange the cherries on four pieces. Brush the edges with egg wash and cover with the remaining four pieces of dough. Press the edges with a fork to seal.
